Clinical Documentation Coder

The Clinical Documentation Coder will drive risk adjustment coding and regulatory compliance, auditing and validating patient charts for accurate diagnostic coding and identifying coding improvement opportunities.

Key responsibilities include reviewing patient charts, ensuring coding compliance with guidelines and reimbursement policies, and educating providers in outpatient primary care coding.

Candidates should possess professional coding certification (CPC, CCS, or CCS-P), at least 1 year of advanced coding experience with HCC coding expertise, familiarity with payer policies, and strong communication and technology skills.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • GED or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Professional Coding Certification (CPC, CCS, or CCS-P) required; CRC a plus
  • Minimum 1 year advanced professional coding experience, including HCC coding
  • Outpatient primary care coding education experience preferred
  • Proficient with payer policies and guidelines
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records
  • Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills
  • Self-motivated with strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to work autonomously and in teams
