Senior Director - Revenue Integrity

The Senior Director of Revenue Integrity is a strategic, systems-oriented leader responsible for enterprise-wide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of hospital and professional revenue integrity operations across Stanford Health Care and SHC Tri-Valley. This role ensures full revenue capture, accurate and compliant charging, optimized coding integration, and strong cross functional alignment with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders.

This director level role partners closely with executive leaders, clinical departments, School of Medicine partners, Supply Chain, Pharmacy, Strategic Pricing and IT teams. Duties include developing strategies to enhance revenue performance, ensure regulatory compliance, improve charge capture workflows, and drive enterprise-wide process optimization.

The role involves using data-driven insights, technology advancements, including AI tools, and process innovation to advance revenue integrity functions; managing multiple teams; developing long-range plans; and aligning initiatives with patient care, teaching, research, and financial priorities.

Key responsibilities include organizational strategy development; policy and governance leadership for charging, charge capture, and CDM management; operational workflow optimization using Lean, Six Sigma; stakeholder engagement and education; charge description master and fee schedule oversight; revenue optimization; and leading digital and EHR initiatives including EPIC.

This position requires fostering a collaborative culture, mentoring teams, succession planning, and performance management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, health care administration, or related field (required)
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years leadership in hospital/professional revenue integrity, charge capture, HIM, coding, or revenue cycle
  • 5+ years EPIC experience
  • Experience in academic medical center
  • Certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CPA required upon hire; additional preferred certifications include Certified Healthcare Revenue Integrity (CHRI)
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle, CMS regulations, billing compliance, and reimbursement models
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills
