Auditing & Education Consultant - Outpatient

At CorroHealth, the purpose is to help clients exceed financial health goals by providing scalable solutions and clinical expertise across the reimbursement cycle. The role involves consulting to evaluate client coder work for proper ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding across inpatient, outpatient, and physician practice settings, performing concurrent or retrospective reviews, inventorying code assignments, and delivering educational content related to audit findings.

Key duties include performing complex analyses of medical record documentation to validate coded data per recognized coding standards, analyzing errors and root causes, preparing and delivering summary audit reports to clients, performing second-level review for compliance and accuracy, researching coding and denial inquiries, and upholding coding ethics and confidentiality. This role is part of the Consulting Services Team focused on education and auditing, with productivity and accuracy standards, client communication responsibilities, continuing education, and occasional travel.

Knowledge and skills required include strong outpatient facility coding and auditing experience (5+ years), recognized credentials such as CCS or COC preferred (CPC or RHIA considered), proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office, strong analytical and communication skills, ability to work independently and with multiple clients, and maintenance of professional credentials.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years outpatient facility-based coding experience
  • Minimum 5 years auditing experience
  • Recognized credential from AHIMA or AAPC such as CCS or RHIT/RHIA (required)
  • Experience with telecommuting and electronic medical record systems
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and with diverse clients
  • Commitment to accuracy, coding ethics, and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet productivity standards
  • Ability to perform work remotely and occasional travel as required
