We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Front Desk & Billing Coordinator to join our physical therapy / medical office team.
This temporary position provides coverage during a team member's maternity leave, with potential to become full-time based on performance and fit.
Responsibilities include front desk support and billing/insurance coordination. This role supports an outsourced billing company and virtual assistants but is not a full charge medical biller position.
Key duties:
- Greet and check in patients
- Answer phones, assist with scheduling and rescheduling appointments
- Collect, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Organize patient documents
- Provide front desk coverage as needed
- Review insurance information and resolve billing or eligibility issues
- Support virtual assistants with complex verification or authorization issues
- Communicate with patients and billing company regarding insurance and billing matters
Qualifications:
- Experience in medical or physical therapy office, billing office, or healthcare administrative setting
- Familiarity with front desk duties, scheduling, insurance review
- Understanding of medical insurance benefits, eligibility, and coordination
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, No-Fault, Medicare, Medicaid, managed Medicaid, Medicare Advantage plans preferred
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Experience with EMR, scheduling, or billing systems is a plus

Note: This role is focused on front desk support, insurance problem-solving, billing coordination, EOB handling, and communication with outsourced billing, not routine claim submission or payment posting.
