Mental Health Billing & Insurance Eligibility Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Biller to join our growing mental health agency in Las Vegas. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage billing processes independently.

Key responsibilities include submitting accurate insurance claims, verifying patient insurance eligibility and benefits, calculating and collecting patient financial responsibility, preparing patient statements, obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations, monitoring accounts receivable, following up on denied claims, maintaining billing systems, and preparing productivity and collection reports.

Required qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience (mental health preferred)
• Strong knowledge of insurance portals such as Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and Optum
• Experience verifying eligibility and provider paneling
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Preferred skills:

• Experience with SimplePractice EHR system
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding (Mental Health, ABA, Psychological Testing)
• Familiarity with CMS guidelines
• Experience with Availity for insurance verification and medical records submission
• Background in accounts receivable billing, secondary insurance billing, superbill preparation, medical collections, EHR and medical records management, and HIPAA compliance

Additional responsibilities include data collection and reporting for insurance panels and ensuring compliance with billing regulations.

Work schedule: Part-time, evening hours and Saturday availability required.
