Since 1995, South Florida Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine has been dedicated to providing comprehensive orthopaedic care for patients on the Treasure Coast. As the practice continues to grow, they are seeking experienced Accounts Receivable Representatives to join their team.
This full-time role involves monitoring and managing insurance payments, denials, and accounts receivable balances. Responsibilities include working with Medicare, commercial payers, and patients to ensure timely payment of account balances, resubmitting claims, filing appeals, identifying uncollectible accounts, and making management recommendations.
The position requires a high degree of independence and offers opportunities for professional growth with regular webinar training to keep up with industry trends.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm in their Stuart office.
- Demonstrated experience in collecting outstanding medical accounts receivables.
- Recent experience writing and filing appeals with Medicare and commercial insurance payers.
- Experience using payer portals to check claim status.
- Experience in orthopaedics or surgical practices preferred.
- Coding experience with knowledge of proper modifier usage is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of physical and/or occupational therapy claims is highly desired.
- Knowledge of filing worker compensation and auto insurance claims is highly desired.
- Experience with EMR/PM systems, especially NextGen.
- Ability to understand and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
- Solid keyboarding skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Comfortable with electronic systems for filing appeals and conducting research.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, math, and communication skills.
