We are looking for a Junior Financial Management Specialist to join our team in supporting the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD(HA)). The ASD(HA) is the principal staff advisor to the Secretary of Defense for health and oversees the Military Health System (MHS), which includes the Defense Health Agency, military medical readiness organizations, and the Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences.
This position is full-time and on-site in the San Antonio area. An active Secret clearance is required.
Responsibilities include assisting non-DoD beneficiaries with the MHS Modified Payment and Waiver Program, reviewing and processing debt relief requests with supporting documentation within strict timelines, determining patient eligibility for debt relief or waiver using pre-determined formulas, collaborating with MHS billing offices and insurance providers to resolve billing discrepancies, coordinating with the U.S. Treasury Department on patient debt status and terms, and maintaining detailed records of patient interactions and account status.
- Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level clearance.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.

- Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting.

- Medical billing and insurance experience.
