Business Office Assistant - Assisted Living

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Office Assistant to join our assisted living community. In this vital role, you will serve as the backbone of administrative operations, ensuring smooth communication, accurate medical billing, and efficient management of medical records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine administrative expertise with healthcare support, contributing directly to the quality of life for our residents.

Responsibilities include managing medical billing using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and DRG classifications to ensure accurate reimbursement and financial records; assisting with medical coding tasks to support healthcare documentation and billing accuracy; maintaining organized medical records within EMR and EHR systems; scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and processing payments or collections related to medical services; ensuring compliance with healthcare documentation standards; facilitating communication among residents, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and staff; and performing general office duties to maintain a welcoming environment.

Seeking candidates with prior experience in a medical office or healthcare environment, strong knowledge of medical terminology, records management, EMR/EHR systems, proficiency in medical coding (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, DRG), and experience with medical collection procedures and insurance claims. Excellent organizational and communication skills required. This role requires in-person work and includes background check.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in medical office or healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and records management
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
  • Proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and DRG classifications
  • Experience with medical billing and collections
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of healthcare documentation and billing regulations
  • Background check required
