Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 5:30pm Call: Every Third Weekend (Friday - Monday) 1-2 Nights per week
This position provides high quality images, including sophisticated special procedures, through operation of specialized equipment ensuring optimum clarity for physician diagnosis and minimum discomfort and radiation exposure to patients. It requires thorough understanding of interventional equipment, diagnostic radiographic principles, film/imaging processing, quality control, and radiation protection.
The role involves minimizing patient risk and recovery duration, imitating life support measures as necessary, adhering to safety and infection control policies, and maintaining patient confidentiality and sensitivity. Requires extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, medical terminology, operative terms, and pharmacology. Knowledge of billing and coding of procedures is also needed.
Ability to work flexible schedules including after-hours call and to schedule and perform diagnostic and interventional procedures. Participates in educational processes of Radiologic Technology students.
Qualifications:
- Completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school.
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff radiologic technologist preferred.
- Registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
- Licensure through North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board required if working in ND.
- Encouraged to obtain certifications in Vascular Interventional Technology and Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography within 24 months if applicable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary.
