Operates radiologic equipment to create clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians. Performs routine and some complex diagnostic procedures using computerized imaging equipment in multiple modalities. May also function as a Medical Assistant as needed. Coordinates and prioritizes patient procedures to maintain high patient care standards. Ensures exam rooms are clean and stocked, infection control standards are met, and all charges are coded accurately in billing systems. Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA guidelines. Adapts care methods to meet unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and other developmental patient needs. Complies with all applicable policies and standards set by state, federal, hospital, and regulatory agencies.
Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent. Minimum 1 year experience as a radiologic technologist preferred. Basic computer skills required. Required certifications: ARRT Radiography (R), State Licensure (e.g., Texas MRT by TMB), BLS certification.
