Ophthalmic Scribe 2

Spectrum Vision Partners supports OCLI Vision, one of the nation's largest multi-specialty ophthalmology networks with over 1,400 employees and 110 providers.

The Ophthalmic Scribe 2 role involves documenting real-time patient encounters, supporting clinical flow, and performing ophthalmic testing including visual acuity, tonometry, dilation, OCT, VF, HRT, B-scan, pachymetry, corneal topography, keratometry, and administering eye drops/ointments.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms and EMR charts, entering diagnoses, prescriptions, testing, and medication orders, auditing charts for accuracy, educating patients on procedures and medications, and delivering exceptional patient service.

Candidates should have 2+ years of medical/ophthalmic scribing experience, advanced medical coding knowledge, cross-training across ophthalmology specialties (preferred), strong EMR documentation skills, excellent communication skills, and ability to stay calm in busy clinics. Knowledge of ocular pharmacology is a plus.

Physical requirements include ability to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of medical/ophthalmic scribing experience
  • Advanced knowledge of medical coding
  • Cross-training across ophthalmology specialties preferred
  • Strong EMR documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay calm and organized in a busy clinical environment
  • Knowledge of ocular pharmacology (anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics, cycloplegics) is a plus
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs
