Contract Payer Analyst

Denver Health seeks a mission-driven Contract Payer Analyst to join the Payer Contracting team. Reporting to the Contract Payer Manager, the role manages payer contracts for Denver Health & Hospital Authority, reviewing contract terms and ensuring contractual compliance. This role collaborates with internal departments such as Revenue Cycle, Registration, Patient Access, and the Medical Staff Office to resolve contracting, billing, payment, and provider roster issues.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining contract management tools and software systems, interpreting third-party payer contract language, negotiating single case agreements, supporting contract negotiations and financial modeling, managing provider credentialing databases, and staying current with payer regulations including Medicare and Medicaid.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related healthcare field and have 4-6 years of recent healthcare, insurance, or practice management experience, plus 1-3 years of contract management experience. Strong knowledge of managed care contracts and healthcare billing codes and reimbursement methodologies (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, Medicare/Medicaid) is required.

This full-time position in Denver, CO offers a salary range of $64,600 to $93,700 annually and benefits including paid time off, parental leave, retirement plans, health coverage, tuition assistance, loan forgiveness eligibility, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or related healthcare field
  • 4-6 years of recent healthcare, insurance, or practice management experience
  • 1-3 years of contract management experience
  • Strong knowledge of Managed Care contracts, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding
  • Extensive knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software
  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve independently, and exercise good judgment
