Reporting to the Contract Payer Manager, the role manages payer contracts for Denver Health & Hospital Authority, reviewing contract terms and ensuring contractual compliance. This role collaborates with internal departments such as Revenue Cycle, Registration, Patient Access, and the Medical Staff Office to resolve contracting, billing, payment, and provider roster issues.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining contract management tools and software systems, interpreting third-party payer contract language, negotiating single case agreements, supporting contract negotiations and financial modeling, managing provider credentialing databases, and staying current with payer regulations including Medicare and Medicaid.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related healthcare field and have 4-6 years of recent healthcare, insurance, or practice management experience, plus 1-3 years of contract management experience. Strong knowledge of managed care contracts and healthcare billing codes and reimbursement methodologies (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, Medicare/Medicaid) is required.
