The Revenue Cycle Director oversees the development and management of Revenue Cycle operations, including Business Office and Health Information Management departments. Responsibilities include enhancing revenue collections, confidentiality, information security, coding, third party payer contracts and reimbursement, budgets, staff development, documentation, scheduling, admissions, billing, financial assistance, collections, discounts, and prompt pay procedures.
Key responsibilities include supervising staff engaged in patient registration, receptionist activities, patient charges, insurance processing, collections, and medical record processing such as coding and transcription. The role manages governmental reimbursement programs, denials management, commercial insurance billing, and financial assistance programs. Provides expertise through data analysis to identify trends and implement operational improvements. Assists with negotiation and management of third party payer contracts and manages billing operations ensuring timely and accurate information and claims.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field
- RHIT or RHIA certification preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience with focus on charge-to-payment relationship, patient account functions, healthcare finance, and reimbursement mechanisms
- Supervisory or management experience
- Strong inpatient and outpatient medical coding and billing audit experience
- Experience with Cerner Community Works electronic medical records preferred
- Knowledge of federal and state laws affecting critical access hospital healthcare management
- High interpersonal skills for handling sensitive and confidential situations
The position is full-time, onsite in Ida Grove, IA, Monday through Friday, daytime hours. Applicant must pass background check, drug screen, and health assessment.
