Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring accuracy and timely coding of medical records
- Analyzing patient charts for correct ICD-10 codes
- Entering final diagnoses into patient systems for billing
- Communicating with physicians to correct documentation issues
- Collaborating with the Business Office and Utilization Review to provide medical record information
- Participating in Medicare audits and maintaining a corporate goal of 95% or above
- Managing dictated reports and discharge charts daily (excluding weekends/holidays)
Qualifications:
- Minimum: High School Diploma, nationally certified medical records coder or working towards certification
- Preferred: Associate's Degree
