The Biologic Coordinator manages and facilitates the administration of biologic therapies within healthcare settings. The role involves coordinating between healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure timely and appropriate biologic treatments. Responsibilities include prior authorization, scheduling, patient education, monitoring treatment adherence and outcomes, maintaining accurate records, and communicating with multidisciplinary teams. The coordinator works with patients suffering from asthma, eczema, chronic hives, nasal polyps, food allergies, and other allergic/immunologic conditions.
Key responsibilities involve coordinating scheduling and administration of biologic therapies, managing prior authorizations, serving as the primary patient contact, maintaining detailed documentation, collaborating with healthcare teams, monitoring adherence, and staying current with therapy protocols, insurance policies, and regulatory requirements.
Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and insurance systems, and knowledge of biologic therapies and healthcare protocols.

Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with biologic therapies or infusion services.
- Strong knowledge of insurance prior authorization processes and medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and standard office software.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Experience as a patient coordinator, case manager, or in specialty pharmacy.
- Familiarity with biologic medications used in autoimmune, oncology, or specialty areas.
- Certification in medical billing, coding, or case management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
