Medical Records Clinical Specialist

The Brody Law Group, a well-established NYC defense firm, is seeking a Medical Records Clinical Specialist with a nursing or clinical background to support their legal team. This role requires bridging healthcare knowledge and legal operations by ensuring medical records are accurately obtained, reviewed, summarized, and maintained to support case strategy and compliance.

Responsibilities include requesting, tracking, and managing medical records from healthcare providers; reviewing records for completeness and relevance; organizing medical records; creating medical chronologies and summaries for attorneys; identifying missing documentation; interpreting medical terminology and treatments; ensuring HIPAA compliance; assisting with case preparation; and supporting trial preparation by organizing medical documentation.

Qualifications include a nursing background (RN, LPN, LVN, or clinical healthcare experience), law firm experience, strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation, organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems, and ability to handle sensitive information professionally. Preferred qualifications include experience in law firm, insurance defense, or personal injury environments, familiarity with HIPAA regulations, summarizing medical records experience, and knowledge of legal case management systems.

Skills include strong analytical thinking, ability to manage multiple deadlines, clear communication, professionalism, accuracy, and independence.

This full-time position offers a salary range of $70,000 to $85,000 annually, with benefits including 401(k), dental, health, vision insurance, paid time off, and life insurance.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year law office experience
