Patient Care Specialist II

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Patient Care Specialist with front office experience in a healthcare environment to support daily medical office operations and ensure an exceptional patient experience. This full-time role is located in Naples, FL, with a schedule Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Greeting, registering, and checking in patients; ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
  • Verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining authorizations, and documenting verification results
  • Collecting and processing copayments with standard cash-handling procedures
  • Answering and routing phone calls, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, and maintaining provider schedules
  • Processing referrals, medical record requests, and appointment ticklers promptly
  • Performing administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and uploading documents into the EHR
  • Reviewing patient accounts for outstanding balances or documentation issues and collaborating with billing as needed
  • Maintaining HIPAA compliance and safeguarding patient information
  • Supporting efficient patient flow across multiple providers and departments
  • Auditing charts and registration data for accuracy and compliance
  • Assisting Practice Manager and care team with administrative tasks and operational reports
  • Providing professional, courteous customer service

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–2 years of healthcare front office experience
  • Knowledge of medical insurance
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Athena or similar EMR/EHR systems
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and HIPAA compliance

Preferred experience:

  • Gastroenterology or Primary Care office experience
  • Familiarity with multi-provider scheduling
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
