As a Scheduling Specialist at Fairfield Hospital, you will coordinate and schedule patient testing or procedures by interacting with physician offices, healthcare providers, and hospital staff to ensure timely scheduling. Responsibilities include obtaining scheduling orders, instructing patients, entering data into the hospital system, maintaining daily patient scheduling records, checking medical necessity, and coordinating with multiple facilities or departments.
You will also provide instructions for test preparation, answer patient and physician questions, handle pre-registration of self-scheduled patients, and generate statistical reports for supervisors. The role requires strong customer focus and professionalism.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in business, healthcare, or related field preferred
- Combination of education and experience considered
Experience:
- Data entry experience preferred
- Typing speed of 45-50 WPM preferred
