Administrative Specialist - Substance Use/Medical

Aiken Center is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Specialist to support daily office operations with a primary focus on insurance and billing. This role also provides support to the ADSAP program and front desk team, helping ensure efficient, accurate, and timely service for patients and staff in a mission-driven behavioral health setting.

You will verify insurance coverage and obtain required authorizations, investigate claim denials, post payments, and apply adjustments accurately in the electronic health record. You will support ADSAP operations by scheduling patients for enrollment and entering patient information into the electronic health record. Additionally, you will provide backup support for front desk and customer service functions as needed and maintain complete, accurate, and organized documentation while collaborating with the administrative team to support office workflow.

The position reports to the Operations Manager and operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., full-time, non-exempt (37.5 hours per week).

Minimum qualifications include at least 2 years of insurance and billing experience; medical or behavioral health experience is preferred. Strong computer skills, including experience with electronic records, billing systems, Microsoft Office, and standard office software, are required. Excellent organizational, attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining accurate and confidential documentation, are essential. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
