San Mateo County Health seeks Electronic Health Record Analyst I/II - Public Health Liaison to provide application support, workflow consultation, and user training for the Epic EHR system with focus on Public Health, Policy and Planning programs including clinics, disease control, surveillance, and case management programs.
Responsibilities include serving as EHR liaison for public health ambulatory clinics, overseeing public health data quality, configuring and maintaining Epic modules, supporting scheduling and billing workflows, collaborating with billing and revenue cycle staff, recommending operational improvements, providing end-user support, participating in system testing and upgrades, and developing training materials for diverse audiences.
Candidates require Epic certification in relevant modules or must obtain within 6 months, experience supporting ambulatory/community health clinics preferably in public health or FQHC settings, knowledge of professional billing and revenue cycle workflows, and strong communication and project management skills.
Position is hybrid with both onsite (San Mateo or South San Francisco) and remote work; travel within the county required.
Education/Experience: EHR Analyst I requires 2 years public health/healthcare setting or 1 year IT support; EHR Analyst II requires 2 years IT support in healthcare with at least 6 months Epic user support experience.

- Epic certification in EpicCare Ambulatory, Cadence, Cogito, and/or Professional Billing or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience supporting ambulatory/community health clinic operations in public health or FQHC
- Knowledge of professional billing, charge capture, revenue cycle workflows related to ambulatory EHR
- Experience liaising between clinical/operational staff and IT teams
- Familiarity with public health workflows including case management and field-based services
