The Physician Practice Manager II manages larger and more complex outpatient group practices, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient practice operations. Responsibilities include overseeing daily office activities such as patient scheduling, referrals and authorizations, outpatient diagnostic testing, release of information requests, patient check-in, insurance verification/eligibility, patient out-of-pocket cost management, daily cash and bank deposits, and patient customer service support through multiple channels.
This role contributes to developing and updating policies and procedures, ensures compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, HFAP, Corporate Compliance regulations, and legal issues. The manager also handles all aspects of personnel management including employee scheduling, coverage coordination, staffing, hiring, training, mentoring, performance appraisals, corrective actions, and resolving employee concerns. Leadership extends to fostering teamwork and motivating staff toward achievement of organizational goals.
Additional duties involve managing productivity and quality metrics, streamlining departmental tasks for efficiency, evaluating equipment and supplies, providing excellent patient care support across all age groups, managing budgets and cost control, processing accounts payable, supervising accounts receivable and collections, and collaborating with the Central Billing Office on revenue cycle and payer requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business, or management is required. Alternatively, 10 years of physician practice experience with 3 years of recent supervisory/leadership experience is acceptable with a commitment to obtain a bachelor's degree within five years.

- Proficiency with medical terminology, CPT-4, HCPCS, ICD-9-CM coding.
- Strong knowledge of software systems, Microsoft Office suite, electronic billing, scheduling, and health record management.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
