Position: Branch Assigned Clinical Assistant
Reports to: Branch Manager
Job Summary:
- Prepare patients for physician exams
- Ensure lab tests, diagnostic imaging reports, and paperwork are in charts
- Assist physicians with clinical duties
- Handle inquiries from patients and staff
- Organize incoming mail and faxes
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma required
- CMA certificate preferred
- Training in orthopaedic assisting and BMO certification are pluses
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least one year clinical assisting experience, orthopedic assisting preferred
- Proficient in email and word processing
- Knowledge of practice management and EHR software
- Familiarity with digital imaging software preferred
- Ability to multitask
- Pleasant voice and professional appearance
- Strong communication skills
Responsibilities Include: Clinical Support:
- Run clinic for assigned provider
- Greet and escort patients, review medical history, update EHR
- Take and log patient vitals
- Order X-rays per protocol
- Manage images in PACS and document in EHR
- Assist with minor procedures and fracture reductions
- Set up and clean exam rooms
- Apply/remove casts, splints, braces
- Draw injectable medications
- Provide patient education
- Log and dispense medications when applicable
- Dispose of contaminated items per OSHA
- Ensure Superbill accuracy
- Complete MIPS requirements
- Schedule follow-up appointments
Branch Support:
- Assist other clinics as needed
- Maintain inventory and order supplies
- Stock and clean exam rooms and nurse stations
- Clean and test clinical equipment
- Train new team members
Other:
- Ensure proper documentation and confidentiality
- Maintain computer software knowledge
- Attend required trainings and meetings
- Maintain certifications
Physical Demands:
- Full range of body motions including lifting up to 30 lbs
- Standing and walking over 8 hours
- Exposure to biohazard materials
Working Conditions:

Salary: $34,320 - $44,720 per year
