Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Trauma Registrar to join the Trauma Department. This role supports trauma research, performance improvement, injury prevention initiatives, and patient care outcomes through accurate trauma data collection, coding, and reporting.
Key responsibilities include identifying and tracking trauma patients per guidelines, abstracting and coding trauma data with ICD-10 and AIS, maintaining registry completion standards, submitting data to NTDB, TQIP, and New York State Trauma Registry, participating in data validation, generating reports, assisting in research and quality improvement, communicating safety or quality concerns, and attending educational meetings.
Preferred qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, 2+ years healthcare experience, knowledge of medical terminology, trauma registry experience, and certifications such as CSTR and CAISS.
Professional development involves completion/maintenance of trauma registry, AIS, ICD-10 coding courses, and continuing medical education.
This position is full-time, in-person at Richmond Hill, NY, with a salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 annually and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and flexible schedule.
