Medical Record Retrieval Specialist

Legal Support

We are a growing legal support company assisting law firms in preparing cases for trial. We seek to hire Full-Time (40 hours/week) and Part-Time (25 hours/week) Medical Record Retrieval Specialists.

Responsibilities include routing work orders to hospitals and medical providers timely, maintaining accurate records and system updates, handling client communications, conducting follow-ups to ensure timely retrievals, performing preliminary research on contact information, faxing authorizations, and clerical duties such as faxing and mailing.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate with 3 to 5 years experience in medical, legal, or large-scale record keeping, or
  • Associate's degree with 2 to 3 years professional office experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior experience in medical billing, legal, or insurance claims office is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under pressure
  • Excellent telephone, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of medical facility processes and med-legal terminology
  • Basic database and Microsoft Office skills
  • Typing speed of 35 wpm
  • Bilingual skills are a plus

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication skills
  • Understanding of medical and legal terminology
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
  • Typing speed at least 35 wpm
  • Bilingual preferred
