The Clinical Documentation Specialist links clinical care and billing operations, ensuring integrity of medical records and facilitating seamless claims submission. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Clinical Documentation, this role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who enjoy problem-solving and collaboration for compliance and accuracy.
Key responsibilities include auditing clinical documentation for billing compliance, insurance verification and monitoring eligibility, preparing claims by verifying medical record completion, managing data and billing rules, collaborating internally to resolve documentation gaps, and supporting billing department projects.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree required
- Minimum 1 year professional office experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Preferred background in Home Health Care billing
- Familiarity with Medicare rules and regulations
- Professional billing or coding certifications
Physical demands involve extended sitting, frequent keyboard use, occasional standing/walking/bending, and occasional lifting of light materials (<25 lbs).
