Emergency Veterinary Assistant

PetVet Care Centers' Pacific & Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant.

The role involves providing compassionate care to animal patients, performing physical exams, treatments, administering medication under supervision, triaging patients, assisting licensed veterinary technicians and doctors, operating and maintaining hospital equipment, performing laboratory tests and radiographs, maintaining medical records, educating clients, and supporting hospital cleanliness and safety.

Candidates should have 2 or more years of veterinary assistant experience, including triage, injections, restraint, assisting exams, and radiographs. Prior emergency room experience is preferred.

Work schedule is 4 ten-hour day shifts Sunday through Wednesday, including some weekends and holidays, with start times between 7 AM and 12 PM.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a veterinary assistant.
  • Experience in triage, subcutaneous injections, restraint, assisting exams, and radiographs.
  • Ability to provide compassionate animal care and client communication.
  • Preferred: previous emergency veterinary experience.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions and maintain accurate medical records.
