Unified is a nationwide community of providers focused on impacting women's health at every stage. This position involves cutting, staining, and preparing tissue samples for pathologist review, prioritizing tests, and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities include following lab procedures for specimen handling, processing and analyzing tests, labeling requisitions and specimens, training or directing lab assistants, grossing and dictating surgical specimens including small biopsies and cervical LEEP specimens, embedding tissue specimens, performing microtomy and routine H&E staining, performing recuts and special/immunohistochemistry stains as requested by pathologists, exercising independent judgment for procedural and technical issues, recognizing and correcting inferior stain quality, adhering to quality control policies, documenting corrective actions, maintaining readiness for inspections, operating and sterilizing lab equipment, following health and safety regulations, and complying with chemical hygiene and lab safety procedures.

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science or equivalent training with non-entry level chemistry/biology coursework, successful completion of an accredited histology program preferred, and two years of recent experience in a high-volume histopathology lab preferred.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science OR equivalent training and experience (24 hours of non-entry level chemistry/biology courses) required
  • Successful completion of accredited histology program preferred
  • Two years recent experience in high-volume histopathology laboratory preferred
