We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Hygienist to join our dental team on Fridays 7:30am-1:00pm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pediatric dentistry and patient care, focusing on creating a comfortable and positive experience for young patients. As a Pediatric Dental Hygienist, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, assist with patient assessments, and support the overall health and well-being of pediatric patients through effective clinical practices and education.

Responsibilities:

Perform dental cleanings including scaling and polishing tailored to pediatric patients’ needs.
Take and interpret vital signs, radiographic imaging, and other diagnostic data to support accurate patient assessments.
Educate children and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records including medical history, treatment notes, and dental charts in EMR system (Archy).
Follow strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Review medical records for relevant health information ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Uphold high standards of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding to facilitate precise documentation and billing.
Place sealants and silver diamine fluoride (SDF).

Requirements:

Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
Proven experience in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry with focus on children’s oral health.
Proficiency with dental software systems, documentation review.
Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
Excellent patient care and communication skills with children and families.
Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and radiology.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining detail in documentation.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to pediatric patients and dental terminology specific to pediatrics.

Work Location: In person, Fridays 7:30am-1:00pm.
