We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Hygienist to join our dental team on Fridays 7:30am-1:00pm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pediatric dentistry and patient care, focusing on creating a comfortable and positive experience for young patients. As a Pediatric Dental Hygienist, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, assist with patient assessments, and support the overall health and well-being of pediatric patients through effective clinical practices and education.
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings including scaling and polishing tailored to pediatric patients’ needs.
- Take and interpret vital signs, radiographic imaging, and other diagnostic data to support accurate patient assessments.
- Educate children and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records including medical history, treatment notes, and dental charts in EMR system (Archy).
- Follow strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Review medical records for relevant health information ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Uphold high standards of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding to facilitate precise documentation and billing.
- Place sealants and silver diamine fluoride (SDF).
Requirements:
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
- Proven experience in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry with focus on children’s oral health.
- Proficiency with dental software systems, documentation review.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills with children and families.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and radiology.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining detail in documentation.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to pediatric patients and dental terminology specific to pediatrics.
Work Location: In person, Fridays 7:30am-1:00pm.
