We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental clinic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental hygiene care to patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction while adhering to the highest standards of practice. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in assisting with various dental tasks.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients, including scaling and polishing teeth.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of preventive care.
- Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize Dentrix Ascend software for patient scheduling, record keeping, and treatment planning.
- Conduct assessments of patients' oral health and provide recommendations for further treatment if necessary.
- Ensure the dental clinic is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
- Proficiency in dental terminology and procedures related to general dentistry.
- Experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with medical coding is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
