We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pediatric dentistry, with a passion for providing exceptional patient care to children and adolescents. As a Pediatric Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive dental hygiene services, assisting with patient education, and supporting the overall dental health of our young patients. Your expertise will help foster a positive and comfortable environment for children during their dental visits.
Responsibilities include performing dental prophylaxis (cleaning, scaling, polishing), conducting patient assessments including vital signs and medical history review, assisting the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques, educating patients and guardians on oral hygiene and preventive care, maintaining accurate medical records according to HIPAA, preparing treatment areas with sterilization and infection control protocols, utilizing dental imaging tools and EMR systems, and collaborating with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care in a pediatric setting.
Skills required include proficiency in dental office management software such as Curve Hero Dental, extensive knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles, experience with chairside assisting focused on pediatric patients, strong understanding of dental and medical terminology relevant to pediatrics, familiarity with infection control standards in dental clinics for children, effective communication skills with young patients and parents, and competency in medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate recordkeeping.
Pay range: $44 to $50 per hour
Expected work hours: 25 to 32 hours per week

- 2+ years of experience as a Pediatric Dental Hygienist or in a similar pediatric dental care role
- Proficiency with dental office software such as Curve Hero Dental
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and techniques
- Skilled in chairside assisting and aseptic techniques
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards
