PetVet Care Centers' Pacific & Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician (Swing) to join their team.
This role involves assisting veterinarians under direct supervision, improving patient care quality, and performing technical and administrative support tasks in emergency veterinary medicine. Responsibilities include preparing for shifts, restraining pets, administering medications, assisting in surgeries, performing clinical lab procedures, taking radiographs, patient care in ICU, client communication, inventory management, and maintaining hospital cleanliness.

The schedule is four 10-hour swing shifts with one weekend shift per week and some holidays, typically Sunday to Wednesday starting in the afternoon.
Qualifications include over 3 years of experience in emergency veterinary care, proficiency in IV catheter placement, radiographs, CPR, sedation, anesthesia, and strong patient handling skills.

- Minimum 3 years of emergency veterinary technician experience
- Proficient in IV catheter placement and venipuncture
- Experience with radiographs and sedation/general anesthesia
- Skilled in CPR and patient handling techniques
- Ability to perform accurate medical calculations
Preferred:
- Previous emergency room hospital experience
Knowledge and skills:
- Sterilization techniques, veterinary instruments, medical and surgical assistance
