Senior Patient Services Specialist - Hematology Oncology

The Senior Patient Services Specialist provides support and clinic coordination for multiple patient care services and patient orientation at the Swedish Cancer Institute across multiple campuses. Responsibilities include scheduling new patients, follow-up appointments, treatments, diagnostic tests, insurance verifications, referrals, authorizations, maintaining medical records, resolving billing issues, and triaging phone calls.

Required qualifications include completion of oncology administrative training and Medical Terminology certification within six months of hire, plus at least 1 year healthcare experience, preferably in physician offices or scheduling. Experience with insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations is required.

Preferred qualifications include an Associate's Degree with emphasis in Health Care or equivalent.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Successful completion of Oncology administrative training within six months
  • Medical Terminology Certification or completion of Medical Terminology course within six months of hire
  • Minimum 1 year experience in healthcare setting preferred
  • Experience with insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations
