Under general supervision of the Health Informatics Program Manager, supports and manages key components of the department's Health Informatics initiatives and related public health programs.
Responsibilities include data analysis for public health programs, producing statistical reports, developing public-facing reports and dashboards, supporting departmental data needs, serving as liaison to public health boards and committees, supporting electronic medical record (EMR) systems and workflows, assisting with staff training, coordinating onboarding and managing Learning Management System activities, conducting program evaluations and quality assurance reviews, maintaining record retention and inventory for audits, participating in training exercises and public health preparedness activities.
Work schedule is Monday–Thursday, 40 hours per week, with additional after-hours work as needed.
Requires ability to travel locally and occasionally out of town for training and seminars, and ability to work in a dynamic environment with frequently changing priorities.
Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Information Technology, or related field required.
Valid Texas Driver's License with reliable transportation and vehicle insurance required.
Knowledge of Public Health ten essential functions and HIPAA Privacy Act.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and small office equipment.
Ability to work with culturally diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to manage competing priorities and establish effective working relationships.
Able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 20 pounds and various physical activities.
Ability to work after-hours and travel locally as needed.
