BayCare is seeking an experienced Specialty Coder III to perform advanced outpatient coding for short-stay encounters. In this role, you will review medical records and accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems. You will serve as a coding subject matter expert, collaborating with clinical and operational teams to resolve documentation questions, improve coding accuracy, and support revenue cycle integrity.
This position also includes mentoring responsibilities, including assisting with the training and development of Coder I and Coder II team members as well as clinical practice students.

Minimum qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Five years of outpatient coding experience
Preferred qualifications
- Associate degree in Health Information Management or a related field
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential
Skills and knowledge
- Extensive outpatient coding experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
