Physicians East, P.A. is seeking a medical coding professional to support charge entry and diagnostic charge posting for assigned specialties and subspecialties in a fast-paced office environment.
The role involves communicating with physicians and staff regarding coding issues, researching missing ticket reports, and helping resolve denials related to coding. The position is based onsite at the Greenville Arlington Blvd. location, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This is a non-exempt full-time role reporting to the Regulatory Services Supervisor.
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience working with ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS
- Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT guidelines, and carrier-specific updates
- Associate degree in Health Information Technology with RHIT certification, or certification eligibility within one year of employment, or CCS/CCS-P/CPC certification with relevant educational requirement
Responsibilities
- Charge entry for assigned specialty and subspecialty
- Post diagnostic charges for assigned specialties
- Research missing ticket reports
- Communicate with physicians, insurance staff, and related departments regarding coding issues
- Research and correct denials related to coding issues
- Attend departmental trainings and meetings as directed by supervisor
