Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent work experience required. College degree preferred, with coursework in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and computer experience.
Minimum Experience
One to three years of prior coding experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- MS-DRG and APR-DRG knowledge required
- ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT knowledge required
- Knowledge of computerized encoder programs
- Excellent customer service skills
License/Certification
- CCS required
