Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. This contract opportunity is for a certified CPT medical coder to support coding work on a remote basis for a minimum duration of 2 weeks.
Role responsibilities
- Accurately assign CPT and ICD-10 codes to medical records and clinical documentation.
- Ensure coding complies with payer and regulatory guidelines.
- Review documentation for coding accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with internal quality teams to resolve coding discrepancies.
- Maintain high productivity and quality standards while working independently.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-have
- Active CPC and/or CRC certification (AAPC or equivalent).
- Proven experience with CPT coding.
- Strong ICD-10 coding experience.
- Currently certified and actively practicing as a medical coder.
Preferred
- Experience with HCC (Hierarchical Condition Category) coding.
- Strong understanding of MEAT documentation principles (Monitor, Evaluate, Assess, Treat).
- Experience with risk adjustment coding is a plus.
