Remote inpatient medical coder for a large healthcare client.
- Review inpatient clinical documentation and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for complex cases.
- Work as part of a centralized inpatient coding team.
- Understand admission type and source, as well as discharge disposition.
- Use EPIC, Optum AS, and 3M/3M 360 on a daily basis.
- Shift is Monday through Friday, 7-4 or 8-5, with a flexible 40-hour work week.
- Duration is a 3-month contract.
Requirements & Qualifications
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification.
- 3-5 years of experience as an inpatient acute care medical coder.
- Experience with EPIC and Optum AS (inpatient coding program).
- Experience with 3M 360.
- Experience coding complex cases such as cardiovascular surgeries, major transplants, neurovascular surgeries, and Level 1 trauma cases.
- Ability to chart 10 charts per day.
