Responsible for accurate and timely collection of claims to third-party payers and patients, charge entry, payment posting, payment plan arrangements, cost estimates, and patient account updates. The role also requires timely responses to inquiries from both payers and patients and frequent interaction with patients, employees, physicians, and community members.
Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma required.
- Minimum of 1 year of billing experience in a health care setting preferred
- If prior experience is not available, business training may be considered
- Previous healthcare billing and follow-up experience preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of computer data entry experience required
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
- Strong communication skills, including communication with all ages, especially the geriatric population
