Join a growing healthcare revenue cycle team as a Medical Biller in a hybrid contract-to-hire role. This position supports hospital and healthcare billing operations, payment posting, claim follow-up, denial resolution, and reimbursement support.
The role offers a hybrid schedule with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote, Monday through Friday with a flexible start time. It is based out of Oak Brook, Illinois.
Requirements & Qualifications
Key responsibilities
- Process and manage medical billing activities for hospital and healthcare services
- Post insurance payments accurately to open accounts receivable balances
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies through payer follow-up
- Review, process, and track insurance refunds in accordance with payer and regulatory requirements
- Monitor claim status through payer portals and direct communication with insurance carriers
- Work denials and aging accounts receivable to maximize reimbursement
- Maintain a strong understanding of payer guidelines, billing regulations, and reimbursement policies
- Prioritize multiple tasks while meeting productivity and quality expectations
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience with hospital billing
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
- Experience with insurance denials management, accounts receivable follow-up, claims status review and resolution, and payment posting
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience using EPIC or similar healthcare billing systems preferred
