Charlie Health is a rapidly growing behavioral health organization focused on expanding access to personalized, virtual care for people navigating mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and eating disorders.
This role is responsible for ensuring services are entered into the billing system in a timely manner and submitted accurately to insurance payers for reimbursement. It plays an important part in the revenue cycle by supporting clean claims, identifying billing issues, and helping improve reimbursement outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Entering patient demographics, insurance information, and charges into the billing system accurately
- Identifying and resolving account errors, claim rejections, and system issues
- Reviewing billing trends and root causes related to inaccurate insurance billing
- Collaborating across teams to reduce errors and improve clean claims rates
- Reconciling billing reports, making claim corrections, and auditing submitted claims for errors
- Investigating escalated insurance billing inquiries and taking action to resolve accounts
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years of charge entry and billing experience, preferably in behavioral health
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of payer-specific billing requirements
- Strong organizational skills and workflow tracking ability
- Experience navigating clearinghouses
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of medical billing practices, office policies, and procedures
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical information
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule in the Nashville office and live within 75 minutes of the office
