Performs revenue cycle duties related to patient intake, insurance information processing, patient balance collections, and credit resolution when overpayments occur.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing revenue operations duties related to medical insurance collections, credits, or setting patient insurance coverage
- Communicating with insurance payers to ensure proper coverage and timely, accurate reimbursement for dialysis services
- Responding to payer communications in a timely and accurate manner
- Collaborating with other revenue operations teams to ensure seamless workflows
- Partnering with clinic teammates such as insurance counselors, social workers, and facility administrators to maintain accurate insurance information
- Identifying process improvements and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Maintaining current patient account information
- Maintaining confidentiality of company and patient information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies
- Attending team meetings, phone conferences, training, and working overtime as needed
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications and preferred skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Revenue cycle health insurance claim experience preferred
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment
- Ownership and initiative to manage a book of business and work through a queue
- Understanding of and alignment with the company culture
Training provided:
- Revenue cycle, insurance rules, and regulations for federal, state, and managed care payers
- Medical billing and reimbursement practices
- Use of billing and reimbursement systems
- Basic medical reimbursement terminology
