Revenue Specialist I (ROPS)

DaVita Kidney Care

Performs revenue cycle duties related to patient intake, insurance information processing, patient balance collections, and credit resolution when overpayments occur.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing revenue operations duties related to medical insurance collections, credits, or setting patient insurance coverage
  • Communicating with insurance payers to ensure proper coverage and timely, accurate reimbursement for dialysis services
  • Responding to payer communications in a timely and accurate manner
  • Collaborating with other revenue operations teams to ensure seamless workflows
  • Partnering with clinic teammates such as insurance counselors, social workers, and facility administrators to maintain accurate insurance information
  • Identifying process improvements and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Maintaining current patient account information
  • Maintaining confidentiality of company and patient information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies
  • Attending team meetings, phone conferences, training, and working overtime as needed
Requirements & Qualifications

Required qualifications and preferred skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Revenue cycle health insurance claim experience preferred
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment
  • Ownership and initiative to manage a book of business and work through a queue
  • Understanding of and alignment with the company culture

Training provided:

  • Revenue cycle, insurance rules, and regulations for federal, state, and managed care payers
  • Medical billing and reimbursement practices
  • Use of billing and reimbursement systems
  • Basic medical reimbursement terminology
  • Basic healthcare reimbursement accounting principles
