UW Medicine Enterprise Records and Health Information has an outstanding opportunity for a Coding Specialist 1 - Edits Coder.
This role is part of the Enterprise Records and Health Information Management department and supports outpatient coding, facility and professional fee coding, and reimbursement integrity. The position is fully remote and works Monday through Friday.
The Edits Coder is responsible for analyzing medical records, validating coding assignments, resolving coding edits and denials, and helping ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines. The role works in Epic work queues and supports optimal reimbursement through accurate ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification in one of the following is required:
- RHIT
- RHIA
- CCS
- CCS-P
- CPC
- CIC
- COC
- CIRCC
- RCC
- ROCC
One year of coding experience or equivalent education/experience.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except where legal requirements apply.
