Ovation Healthcare is seeking a Hospital Outpatient Specialty Coder to support ruralMED Management Resources. This role is responsible for critical access hospital coding across emergency department, infusion, specialty clinic, professional fee, and Rural Health Clinic services.
The position focuses on accurate and timely coding of medical claims, charge entry review, and reimbursement optimization. The coder will work under general direction and collaborate with internal teams in a 100% remote environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use multiple client systems and manage competing priorities
- Comfort working in a remote teamwork environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Three to five years of experience in emergency room coding, infusion coding, and specialty clinic procedure coding
- Two years of experience with formal coding training may be considered
- Critical Access Hospital and/or Rural Health Clinic coding experience is a plus
