Fairfax Behavioral Health is a private, free-standing mental health hospital specializing in psychiatric and detox treatment. The Monroe location is seeking a detailed Health Information Technician/Coder to support the Health Information Management department.
The role processes discharge charts, including ICD-10 coding, chart assembly and analysis, and data entry across multiple systems. It also supports the HIM department by scanning charts, assisting the ROI Coordinator, completing departmental tasks, and helping the Director of HIM as needed. The position helps maintain accurate patient records while patients are in-house and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, licensing requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- 2+ years of administrative experience
- 1 year of experience in a health care setting required
Certifications
- CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA required
- Successful completion of Verbal De-Escalation and Handle with Care certifications
- CPR certification; provided during new hire training
