This full-time, on-site role in West Palm Beach supports revenue cycle operations by reviewing clinical documentation, assigning ICD-10 codes, and ensuring accurate billing for Medicare and commercial insurance carriers. The position includes claims submission, denial resolution, insurance verification, and follow-up on outstanding balances. The role also requires collaboration with clinical and administrative teams to clarify documentation and maintain compliance with payer and organizational standards.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and strong understanding of clinical documentation
- Proficiency in ICD-10 coding and familiarity with current coding guidelines
- Experience working with insurance carriers, including commercial plans and Medicare
- Ability to analyze and resolve denials and manage claims follow-up effectively
- Previous experience as a medical biller and/or coder in a clinical or multi-specialty practice setting
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in data entry
- Comfort using electronic health records (EHR) and billing software systems
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with clinical and administrative staff
- Certification in medical billing and coding (for example, CPC, CCS, or equivalent) preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training in medical billing and coding desirable
- 3+ years of medical billing and coding experience
