Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a certified Specialized Coder with expertise in physician coding for Cardiology, Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery, or Vascular Surgery.
This role is responsible for reviewing physician charges, accurately coding encounters, correcting coding edits, and assisting with research on denied claims. The position also includes tracking coding trends, mentoring and training other coders, and supporting provider education.
This is a remote position, with occasional travel and onsite work required as business needs require.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required experience
- 3+ years of coding experience
- Extensive physician coding experience with expert knowledge in Cardiology, Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery, or Vascular Surgery
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS
- Experience with EPIC and coding software tools
- Strong organization, communication, time management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize short- and long-term deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to learn and adopt new processes, including AI-assisted workflow improvements
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Certifications
- Must have and maintain at least one of the following:
- CPC
- CCS
- RHIA
- RHIT
- CPC is preferred, with CCVTC and/or CIRCC also valued
