Senior Coding Educator

This role is a National Remote position focused on acute coding education and onboarding for the Middle Revenue Cycle Coding Services Operational Team. The Senior Coding Educator develops and delivers standardized training, continuing education, and audit-support education for medical coders. The position supports coding quality, compliance, and professional development across coding operations.

The role works Monday through Friday during business hours of 6:30 am to 3:00 pm CST and requires flexibility across shift schedules. Travel may be required up to 10%.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Active acute coding certification/license through AHIMA or AAPC such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, CPC, or CCS-P
  • 3+ years of acute coding experience in a large multi-specialty hospital, hospital system, or equivalent health-related organization
  • Advanced knowledge of acute coding classifications, guidelines, conventions, and payment methodologies
  • Experience with inpatient hospital coding and ICD-10-PCS
  • Working knowledge of regulatory agencies and coding-related developments such as CMS, AHA, DHS, and Joint Commission
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management, organization, prioritization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and related revenue cycle technologies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday during the stated business hours

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience delivering coding education
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design
  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate education plans and methodology
  • Experience developing teams and sharing knowledge effectively
