Summit Spine and Joint Centers (SSJC) is a rapidly growing, multi-state interventional pain management practice providing comprehensive clinical, surgical, and imaging services. The organization operates across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, and Texas and focuses on patient-centered care through collaboration, innovation, and clinical excellence.
This role is responsible for managing assigned accounts receivable, reducing aging AR, processing denials and appeals, and supporting timely account resolution. The specialist will also track denial trends, maintain reporting, assist with refunds, verify eligibility and benefits, and communicate with insurance carriers, patients, and providers to support accurate reimbursement and claim processing.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with accounts receivable or revenue cycle in a medical setting
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, workers' compensation, and personal injury cases
- Knowledge of claims submission for office visits, outpatient procedures, urinary drug screens, DME, MRI, and chronic care management
- Understanding of medical billing rules, coordination of benefits, modifiers, EOBs, and ANSI code denials
- Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and medical pre-certification protocols
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to change
- Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience with eClinicalWorks preferred
