The Medical Billing Associate works within hospital or physician billing offices and is responsible for the timely and efficient billing and follow-up of medical claims throughout the Albany Med Health System. The role focuses on pre-billing edits and introductory payer denials, ensuring claims meet regulatory requirements and payer policies so clean claims are submitted. It also includes basic denial resolution, appeal initiation, and claim rebilling to support payment and reduce aging accounts receivable.

Key responsibilities include resolving billing edits in assigned work queues, responding to denials, collaborating with internal and external departments, identifying payer trends, documenting account actions clearly, navigating payer websites for policy information, using Epic and OnBase, and meeting productivity and quality standards.
